To date production from the field has been 50 million barrels of Oil, 129,000 MMscf of Gas and 393,000 metric tons of LPG. Joint Venture Partners lead by OPII as Operator are at advanced stage of initiating a tertiary recovery project to enhance production by introducing new technologies of an international level. OPII has 70% Working Interest in the field.

The Ratana field contains a horizontal well, which is believed to be the world's deepest horizontal completion. In 2002, OPII discovered gas and condensate in a previously unexplored zone by undertaking a work over program in an existing well (Ratana-II). Gas production is being sold to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited after extraction of Sulphur and LPG at Pakistan Oilfields Meyal facilities. Despite marginal production, the dedication and commitment of Orient's team has not left any stone unturned to tap the full resource potential of the previously bypassed Eocene Zone and resulted in the discovery of new production possibilities. First quarter of 2007 is marked as another remarkable achievement of OPII’s expertise with Oil and gas discovery in Ratana Deep # 1 from Datta Formation of Jurassic age by deepening Ratana # 3 to Kingriali Formation of Triassic age. To date production has been 1.4 million barrels of Condensate, 32,600 MMscf of Gas and 4,900 metric tons of LPG. OPII has 65.91% Working Interest in the field.

MIRPUR KHAS BLOCK :

To add to the impressive run of exploration operations in the area Umar-1, Ali-1 and Ahmed-1 were discovered. The gas/condensate and oil production from this Block was commercialized on a fast track basis by laying the necessary pipelines and installing a gas purification plant, which is processing raw gas to pipelines specifications for onward sale to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited. In July 2006, a Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement was signed with Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) for the gas supply for a period of fifteen years.
